Join leaders from New York Hall of Science as we unveil our newest project, CityWorks, a groundbreaking exhibition revealing the complex science, systems, and technologies behind an ever-evolving city.
Â
Through year-round activations and community celebrations, CityWorks will give New Yorkers a new awareness of the roles they can play to make our city more livable, resilient, and sustainable, and discover how their choices today shape the city’s future.

The New York Hall of Science (NYSCI) is the city’s premier interactive museum of science and technology, as well as a leader in STEM education and a laboratory for new forms of learning. NYSCI is recognized for groundbreaking exhibitions, innovative educational programs, youth development and mentorship, and teacher professional development initiatives that draw diverse audiences of children and adults into hands-on STEM learning.
Our mission is to nurture generations of passionate learners, critical thinkers and active citizens through Design Make Play — an approach to learning that encourages hands-on experimentation, critical thinking, and iterative problem-solving.
CityWorks will be centered around a series of interactive tables that use augmented reality, material objects, interactive digital elements and multi-touch screens to make experimenting with (and learning about) some of New York City’s core systems irresistible. Visitors will engage with with New York City as it is, but also reveals the city as it might be.
